Friends of Possum Long Habitat Creation Project- Summer 2008
Hi to all the Friends of Possum Long Nature Center from Pam Hopkins!
Volunteer help is always needed on a variety of projects at Possum Long Nature Center (621 S.E. Palm Beach Road, Stuart). Currently the bulk of our activity is clearing invasives but there is also need for propagation of selected native species and routine maintenance (weeding and pruning). If you have a few hours to spare we would be pleased to have you share your energy, your expertise and your company with us. Our summer schedule is listed below.
Our summer plans are now set. I hope you will spread the word to friends, family, colleagues. It is a challenging time of the year to be outside but we modify our projects to keep everyone in the shade and on fairly light duties. The hours given below are windows of opportunity and you shouldn't feel obliged to stay the whole time of any slot.
Every Wednesday afternoon between 3 and 7 with Pam Hopkins.
Every Friday morning between 9 and 10:30 with Susan Smythe.
The first and third Saturdays of the month between 8 and 10:30 with Pam Hopkins. [June 21, July 19, August 2 & 16, September 6 & 20].
On the Stuart Garden Club site the first Thursday of the month between 8:30 and 10:30 with Louise White. [July 3, August 7, September 4].
Bring your gloves, a snack and something cold to drink - Possum Long Nature Center 621 S.E. Palm Beach Road , Stuart.
