Library Talk with Jim Howe, Conservationist

Date: Thu, Feb 7, 2019, 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM

Category: Program

Jim Howe will tell us lots about the scrub jays, as well the scrub ecosystem itself; and how Audubon’s “Jay Watch” program monitors the birds scientifically. AND… how you can help, too! “Florida Scrub Jay is Florida’s only endemic species – it lives only here in Florida," Jim says.

Jim is a retired mechanical design engineer and Florida Master Naturalist, who now concentrates on citizen science, endangered species, birds, and other eco-related volunteer efforts. He has logged over a thousand hours in the state parks, working with both Florida Scrub Jays and Sea Turtles. Jim also leads monthly scrub jay walks at Jonathan Dickinson State Park.
